The decision-making process
It is the people in the organization who are responsible for making and implementing decisions based upon the information received and their perception and analysis of that information.
The decision-making process consists essentially of the following stages:
1. Receiving information.
2. Adequately evaluating its relevance, quality and quantity.
3. Analyzing its content.
4. Interpreting the results.
5. Considering the alternative choices which the analysis reveals.
6. Deciding on the optimum course of action.
7. Implementing the decision through the use of strategical, tactical and operational plans.
8. Monitoring and controlling the plans.
9. Adjusting and modifying the plans in the light of both organizational and environmental feedback.
